Each option is evaluated strictly by its published technical data to help you find the right fit for your specific network requirements.
Comparing Google Wifi Alternatives
TP-Link Deco Tri-Band WiFi 7 3-Pack
The TP-Link Deco BE85 moves you from basic coverage to high-capacity performance. It uses Wi-Fi 7 and tri-band architecture to handle heavy loads. The original Google Wifi lacks these modern standards. This TP-Link system includes 10G ports for wired connections. That is a significant upgrade over the original’s typical gigabit limits. It is larger and heavier than the compact Google nodes. You should choose this if you have fiber internet or many simultaneous devices. It sacrifices the simple, minimalist look of the Google system for raw power and future-proofing. It is built for large homes needing maximum throughput.
Google WiFi AC1200 3-Pack
The Google WiFi AC1200 3-Pack is very similar to the renewed version you are considering. Both offer AC1200 speeds and manage through the Google Home app. The new model specifies a 4,500 square foot coverage area. It has slightly different dimensions but maintains the same compact node design. You get the same ease of use and simple setup. The main difference is that this is a new unit rather than renewed. It is ideal for small to medium homes where basic reliability matters more than speed. It is a safer choice if you want brand-new hardware with the same familiar interface.
ASUS ZenWiFi Quad-Band WiFi 7 Mesh 3-Pack
The ASUS ZenWiFi BQ16 Pro is a premium option with quad-band Wi-Fi 7. It offers much higher speeds than the original Google Wifi. The system includes 10G ports for high-speed wired connections. It also features advanced network segmentation and VPN support. The original system lacks these enterprise-grade features. The ASUS nodes are larger and have a different aesthetic. You should pick this if you need extensive coverage and robust IoT management. It is designed for users who require maximum performance and control. It gives up the simple, set-and-forget nature of the Google system for advanced capabilities.
Google Wifi 3-Pack Mesh System
The new Google Wifi 3-Pack is essentially the same hardware as the renewed model. Both are AC1200 mesh systems designed for basic whole-home coverage. The new unit has slightly different dimensions and weight. It offers the same simple setup and app management. The key difference is condition. You get a brand-new device instead of a renewed one. This is best if you want the same reliable performance without buying used. It is suitable for average homes that do not need high-speed features. It provides consistent coverage with the same familiar Google interface and ease of use.
Tenda 3-Pack Dual-Band Wi-Fi 5 Mesh System
The Tenda Nova MW6 uses Wi-Fi 5 instead of the newer standards. It is a dual-band system with AC1200 speeds. It has gigabit ports for wired connections. The original Google Wifi may offer better integration with the Google ecosystem. The Tenda system is smaller and lighter than the Google nodes. It is a practical choice for small homes with moderate device counts. You should choose it if you want basic mesh coverage at a lower cost. It lacks the advanced features of newer Wi-Fi standards. It is a straightforward option for users who prioritize simplicity and affordability over cutting-edge performance.
Google Nest WiFi Pro 6E 3-Pack
The Google Nest WiFi Pro 6E uses Wi-Fi 6E for faster, less congested speeds. It includes the 6GHz band for improved performance. The original Google Wifi lacks this modern standard. The Nest nodes have a different multi-color design. They are slightly larger than the compact Google Wifi nodes. This system offers robust whole-home coverage with automatic management. You should pick it if you want modern speeds and large area coverage. It is better for homes with many connected devices. It gives up the legacy compatibility of the original system for faster, more reliable connectivity.
